Network
reGon builds on more than a decade of collaborative research on open, cross-sectoral energy system modelling and grid planning. Since early 2025 we have been extending the tools developed in open_eGo (2015–2018) and eGon (2019–2023), with one goal: putting them to work in practice. Everything we build is open source and open data.
The tools are shaped by the people who use them. Through workshops, joint case studies and scenario development, transmission and distribution system operators, municipalities, utilities and research institutions bring us the planning questions that guide what we develop next.
Are you working on the transformation of the energy system?
Whether you plan grids, model energy systems, shape policy, or simply want to try our tools, we would like to hear from you. Joining our network means invitations to our workshops, updates on our results, and a direct line to the people building the tools.
Do you want to become part of the network?
